HTC One M8 Asia starts receiving Marshmallow

Late last year 2015, HTC announced its finalization as it finally finished testing its beta Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for all unlocked One M8 handsets and that the update will be made available to customers shortly. Marshmallow has finally made its way to Asian models of the HTC One M8.

The firmware version number is 6.14.707.1, which is a little different to the version released by HTC at the end of last year, suggesting a number of bug fixes and changes have been made on the way to Asia. The update weighs in at a hefty 1.14GB, so the download might take a while and the installation time is estimated at 60 minutes.

The update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow means that HTC One M8 customers will be able to make use of more definable app permissions, Doze battery optimizations, and Now on Tap for additional display contextualised information. Including the security patches that HTC will have implemented.

HTC continue the rolling out of the Marshmallow updates to all its flagship handsets this year makes them still on the top list. Additional regions and carrier branded models of HTC One M8 are expected to receive similar updates this month or next
