iPhone 7 release date, specs rumors: Chinese report ‘confirms’ next iPhone is waterproof – Rumors regarding the upcoming flagship phone from Apple have been circulating recently.

Majority of them have some very wild claims regarding the technologies that the company will be using in their upcoming product. One thing is for sure, Apple will be having a very busy year next year, as it will be launching a slew of new products to satisfy its growing consumer base.

In regards to its new products, Apple is expected to launch a new line of iPads this spring. There are also talks that it will be launching a brand new 4-inch smartphone sometime next year, probably be named the iPhone 7C.

The latest news, however, is more about the upcoming flagship phone, the iPhone 7, which is rumored to also be coming next year. The latest reports comes from information provided by Commercial Times, which had done some research on a company named Catcher Technology, he company apparently provides a big portion of the chassis parts that will be used in Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 smartphone. The reports indicate that the upcoming new smartphone will indeed be “water-proof” as previously speculated by other reports.

The water proofing, however, will be somewhat similar to the way Sony has been making their products which the device will be able to withstand some degree of water exposure and spillage, but it will not be fully water proof or fully submersible per se; so no diving or extended water exposure. The report also states that a new compound material is being developed that will be hiding the phone’s previously exposed antenna.

The compound might also be used to further streamline the design, so consumers may be seeing a slightly different look for the upcoming new smartphones. For now, majority of the report seems to be speculation and rumors, so it is a good idea to take the information with a solid dose of salt. Source Techday
